Good notes is the best note taking app on the app store. It’s very hard to find a decent note taking app on the app store but search no further, download Good Notes! It is as close to perfect as you can get from a note taking app. Not only can you take notes but also view and annotate PDF’s. I use it everyday to annotate over my own Let’s Practice Geometry worksheets and answer keys, take notes from meetings, write down ideas, take phone messages and just about everything else. Good Notes has every possible feature you could want in a note-taking app and then some. I would recommend Good notes to any Teacher, or Student, as the number one note taking and PDF annotation app! Type: interactive whiteboard, screencasting, desktop control
Price: Free, $4.99 to Remove Logo from recorded videos.
Doceri is a combined screencasting, desktop control, and interactive whiteboard in one app. Basically, it does everything you need except grade your papers, take attendance, and go to staff meetings. Seriously though, I can’t say enough about this app because I love it so much, and because there is so much too it. So much I can’t possibly describe it all in a review. I’ll cover the basics here but really you should just go and download it and try it for youself.
If I could only have one app on my Ipad this would be the one I would choose without even thinking about it. It is teacher app number one without a contest! You don’t need a two-thousand dollar interactive whiteboard. All you need is a projector a computer (or apple TV) and Doceri. (read more…)
Type: Seating Chart, Grade Book, Personal Organizer
Teacher Kit is a very useful little app despite a few flaws that can at times make it clumsy. I installed Teacher Kit because I was looking for a seating chart app and this is what teacher kit does best. It also allows you to make behavior notes on each student, take attendance within the app, keep track of grades, and even send parents an email from within the app! It allows you to separate classes if you are a secondary teacher or have just one if you want. It is the best seating chart and student info app I have been able to find. The main reasons this app does not receive a 5 star rating is because it has a couple quirks that make it a bit clumsy and it doesn’t support exporting or any kind of syncing of attendance, grades, or notes.
This app’s main feature for me is the seating chart. It takes seconds to move a student or two around and you can make a whole class seating change in under 5 minutes. It is so much nicer than paper seating charts or sticky notes in a sheet protector. From within the seating chart you can tap a student and make a note, take attendance, or enter grades. Not too bad!
